SCART is a non-profit cultural organization established in 2004, based in Prague, Czech Republic. It fosters convergence of science and art on local, national and international level in a wide variety of formats: interdisciplinary art/science research projects, commissions, exhibitions, festivals, workshops, and debates. SCART is the founder of TransGenesis festival that mixes genes of artistic and scientific creativity and presents the results in co-production with the Czech Academy of Sciences during its annual Week of Science and Technology. SCART is also the pioneering initiator and leader of the first Czech program of artists in science labs, organizing residencies for creative individuals at different research institutes. SCART is a member of ArtsActive network that encourages trans-national cooperation of art/science institutions and a co-founder of Evolutionary Cultures, European network of art/science centres and initiatives.
